TRE® with Allison Bennett, MSW

I recently had the privilege of experiencing a session with Allison Bennett, MSW, a Shamanic Energy Medicine Practitioner, and therapist who guided me through TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises). From the moment we began, it was evident that Allison possesses a deep understanding of both the physical and psychological dimensions of stress, tension, and trauma.

TRE® is truly innovative, working with the body's natural reflex mechanisms to release deeply ingrained patterns of tension. Allison expertly facilitated this process, creating a space of safety and trust that allowed me to fully engage with the practice. Her mindfulness and sensitivity were palpable throughout the session, ensuring that I felt supported and at ease every step of the way.

Having not explored TRE® since my time at Harvard's American Repertory Theatre, I was amazed by the profound impact it had on me under Allison's guidance. The soothing vibrations and gentle release of muscular tension left me feeling a sense of peace and well-being that I hadn't experienced in some time.

What sets Allison apart is not only her extensive knowledge and training but also her innate ability to connect with her clients on a deeper level. She possesses a rare combination of expertise and empathy, making her sessions not only effective but also deeply transformative.

Thanks to Allison and TRE®, my nervous system has found a newfound calm, and I'm now on a trajectory of harnessing the transformative power of trauma. I wholeheartedly recommend Allison to anyone seeking healing and wellness on both physical and emotional levels.

What unfolds onstage is neither a sentimental return nor a polemic about loss, but something more exacting: a sustained inquiry into how memory survives when the physical structures that once housed it have been erased. Rooted in Montell’s childhood in Chicago’s Cabrini-Green housing project, the piece arrives in the long shadow of its demolition, interrogating not merely what was destroyed but what continues to reverberate—in bodies, language, and cultural mythologies—long after the skyline has be...
